The elapse of time
“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” — Psalm 90:12 (NIV) Time has a way of reminding us that nothing on earth stands still. The seasons change, children grow into adults, and yesterday’s memories become today’s treasured stories. We often wonder where the years have gone, especially when we look back and realize how quickly life has passed. Yet every passing moment is a gift from God, entrusted to us for His purpose.
It is easy to become consumed by busy schedules, deadlines, and responsibilities, believing there will always be more time later. We postpone conversations, delay acts of kindness, and sometimes neglect our relationship with the Lord. But Scripture reminds us that our days are numbered, not to make us fearful, but to encourage us to live wisely and intentionally.
