Remembering God’s faithfulness
Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly instructed His people to remember. From the stones gathered after crossing the Jordan River to the written accounts of His mighty works, remembrance was never meant to be an exercise in nostalgia. It was an act of worship. Preserving history allows each generation to see the faithfulness of God and to trust Him for the future.
Psalm 78:4 reminds us, “We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power, and the wonders He has done.” Our stories matter because they reveal God’s hand at work in ordinary and extraordinary moments alike. When we record testimonies, protect family heirlooms, care for historic places, or share the experiences of those who came before us, we are passing along evidence of God’s enduring presence.
