Somewhere between frustration and fun

Feelings can sometimes be hard to describe, and last Wednesday afternoon, I was at a loss for words.

While covering my third and final county fair of the season—the Merrick County Fair outside of Central City—I walked away from the modern show ring in which the livestock auction was being held and took a brief tour of the fairgrounds.

Initially, I set out searching for some action pictures of the exhibitors preparing for that evening’s premium auction. However, after stepping just a few feet into the first barn, I forgot all about my mission.
