The Nebraska Supreme Court’s annual summer tour made its way through central Nebraska this week, giving the state’s highest court an opportunity to meet with local judges and court staff, hear about challenges facing rural courts, and see how local judicial systems are addressing those challenges.
Chief Justice Jeffrey Funke and other members of the Supreme Court visited courthouses throughout the region on Monday as part of the three-day tour. The event covered sixteen courthouses across north central and central Nebraska before concluding Wednesday.
“This is an opportunity for the members of the supreme court to get out and see the judges in person, see where the trial judges work and their facilities, and understand what they need to be more efficient,” Funke noted in a one-on-one interview during the event on Monday.
