High winds cause over $600,000 in damage

A severe storm swept through the Loup Valleys Rural Public Power District (RPPD) on August 13th, knocking out power to approximately 2,200 customers and damaging nearly 100 poles, including thirteen transmission structures—structures that carry the high-voltage transmission lines that bring electricity into RPPD substations.
