Growth of data centers, AI prompt reconsideration by state leaders

Just about every week, I drive by a massive construction project on the north side of Lincoln, next to Interstate 80.

Construction cranes soar high into the air; bulky soil scrapers remove hills and build new ones; a steady stream of construction vehicles scurry to and fro.

It is the site for a $600-million data center for Google.
