HAZARD has a new place to play thanks to the congregation at Faith Lutheran Church. On April 12th, around fifteen volunteers gathered at Ark Park in Hazard on the campus of the former Hazard school building to help construct a new playground. It took two weeks to erect the new playground—including concrete work—with the project being completed with the addition of 160 bags of mulch.
A “ribbon cutting” ceremony was recently held for the new playground equipment, with students in the church’s Midweek classes ripping apart pieces of a fifty-foot paper chain that encircled the playground.
