LCPS to again offer summer meals

As part of its efforts to ensure kids have access to healthy meals during the summer months, Loup City Public Schools recently announced that it will once again be hosting a summer meals site serving kids and teens.

The meals will be made available through the Summer Nutrition (SuN) program, a federal program administered by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and run by local school districts and organizations.

Starting on Monday, June 2nd, all kids and teens aged eighteen and under are eligible to receive meals free of charge, with no registration needed. Each weekday during the month of June, Loup City Public Schools will offer “Dine-In” breakfast in the school cafeteria starting at 7:00 a.m. and continuing until 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be available in a “Grab & Go” format from the cafeteria starting at 11:30 a.m. and continuing until 12:30 p.m. New to the program this year, participating children will be eligible to pick up weekend meals during lunch pick-up on Fridays.
