SUMMER NUTRITION PROGRAM

The Summer Nutrition (SuN) Program is in full swing at Loup City Public Schools (LCPS). The program, funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and operated locally by LCPS, offers free summer meals for all children under eighteen years of age from June 2nd through July 11th.

“Since our free/reduced is above fifty percent for the school year, we are able to provide free meals for any children, one through eighteen,” noted Director of Food Service Bonnie Sekutera, who runs the local program alongside Karen Lonowski. “They don’t have to sign up… and they don’t have to belong to the school system.”
