Foundation awards grants to several local organizations

In 2025, Sherman County will benefit from over $93,000 in grant funding from the Sherman County Community Foundation for a variety of community improvements. Donations to the foundation are converted into visible and tangible enhancements, such as recent completions of a multi-sport court in the Litchfield park for basketball and pickleball, and a picnic shelter on the grounds of the Sherman County Historical Museum in Loup City. Nonprofit organizations in Sherman County apply for grant funding available through the Foundation for projects they are working on to improve their communities. This year, the Foundation has committed grant funding assistance that includes:

• $15,000 to the Litchfield Rural Fire & Ambulance District for a cardiac monitor and defibrillator for its ambulance

• $5,000 to the Sherman County Ag Society for restroom improvements in the VFW Hall on the fairgrounds in Loup City
