Cathryn Ward, MD, has been named the Valley County Health System (VCHS) Chief of Staff.
As chief of staff, Ward acts as the liaison and advisor between VCHS administration and medical staff, as well as oversees physician credentialing, education, and quality assurance. VCHS currently has a nine-person medical staff, with five doctors and four advanced practitioners. Greg McClanahan was voted vice president, Nathan Harms, MD, was voted secretary, and Hilary Miller, MD past-president of the medical staff for the upcoming year. Sarah Smyth, PA, Johanna Spencer, APRN-NP, Hallie Yantzie, APRNNP, and Tessa Welniak, APRN-NP, are the four advanced practitioners on the VCHS medical staff.
Dr. Ward has been with VCHS since 2022 and sees patients at the VCHS Medical Clinics in Ord and Burwell as well as in the emergency department at the hospital in Ord. Dr.
