SHERMAN COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Pilot Evelyn Sharp made history in Sherman County as well as her home county of Valley County.
In 1938, at only eighteen years of age, Sharp was the first pilot to qualify for delivering air mail, according to a press release by the State Aeronautics Commission Secretary.
