A new commission is the latest effort to find property tax relief

Nebraska's high property taxes have long frustrated residents, and Governor Jim Pillen is determined to address the issue by forming an 18-member School Finance Reform Commission. Charged with finding innovative ways to fund K-12 education, the commission aims to explore solutions that could finally alleviate the state's tax burden.

Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen and state lawmakers are taking another run at reducing the much-despised high property taxes in our state, this time via a commission on reforming the way we fund K-12 schools.

You have to admire the governor for keeping on trying. To cut property taxes was one of his top campaign pledges.
