Twenty planes landed in Loup City for Sunday event

Even a few showers couldn’t dampen the festive atmosphere at the Loup City Municipal Airport on Sunday morning as a large crowd of pilots, airplane enthusiasts, and even local residents turned out for the Polish Picnic Fly-In.

This week’s Polish Picnic Fly-In, the first for the airport since 2023, was spearheaded by the Nebraska chapter of the Antique Airplane Association. The local chapter of the association, which is based in Hastings, annually holds a fly-out for its members, and the Loup City Municipal Airport had been the destination for the event this year.
