THE RUNWAY was shining bright with 4-H talent at the Nebraska State Fair last month. On Saturday, August 23rd, Sherman County 4-H member Jillian Hurlburt joined nearly 300 youth from across Nebraska in the 4-H Fashion Show at Raising Nebraska in Grand Island. With a crowd full of family, friends, and supporters cheering them on, local youth modeled their constructed and purchased outfits for a panel of judges in a setting that felt every bit like a professional fashion event. Beyond ribbons and awards, the 4-H Fashion Show helps young people build confidence, creativity, and life skills. From learning to sew and design, to smart shopping and presentation, these experiences prepare youth for success far beyond the runway. Jillian Hurlburt received a purple ribbon for her constructed skirt and vest outfit. A proud member of the RKD 4-H Club for ten years, she continues to grow her skills through 4-H fashion and design.
