SHERMAN COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Alfred (Alf) Brown, one of the early, early settlers of Sherman County, recalled the famous April 1873 snowstorm in one of the stories he submitted to The Palmer Journal in 1931. He was ninety years old at the time he published these “Memoirs of Alf Brown, Sr.”
Alf reported that April 12, 1873 was a terrible storm. He wrote “J. W.
