LOUP CENTRAL LANDFILL ASSOCIATION

Construction on the Loup Central Landfill Association’s new recycling facility south of Elba is entering its final stages, marking a major milestone in one of the association’s largest infrastructure projects in recent years.

The landfill association serves several area counties, including Howard, Sherman, Greeley, Loup, and Garfield, and myriad additional communities throughout the area, such as Palmer in Merrick County. Operations include its main landfill site south of Elba—which handles both municipal solid waste and construction and demolition debris—and a smaller transfer station located in Burwell. In total, the association’s services impact nearly 20,000 area residents.
