Residents of Loup City looked to the future last Wednesday night; five years ahead, to be exact.

Last week, a crowd of almost sixty people gathered at the Loup City Community Center to participate in the Loup City Visioning 2030 Community Meeting. The event, which was presented by Sherman County Economic Development, the Sherman County Community Foundation, the Loup City Area Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Loup City, was billed as the next step in a process that aims to help the Sherman County community grow and improve.

The process began in December 2024 when a community survey was released. The responses to that survey were made public at a meeting in June, with last Wednesday’s gathering being the next step in the process.
