The brackets at the District B-1 Tournament were brimming with tough competition over the weekend, but that didn’t stop Arcadia/Loup City’s Rylee Kursave in her quest to defend her state title.
On Saturday, on the mats at Plainview High School, Kursave pinned all three of her opponents to secure the Rebels’ only medal of the meet and punch her ticket to the NSAA Class B State Wrestling Championships in Omaha.
Kursave opened the tournament by pinning Kyrian Austin of Scribner- Snyder. The Rebele then locked up Madilyn Reese of North Bend Central before she met up with Stayci Medina Lopez of Broken Bow. Opposite the Indian, the Rebel battled into the second period before she locked up the gold medal with a pin.
