Rebels net multiple gold medals on the track in Burwell

The Arcadia/Loup City Rebels finished last week’s Burwell Invite within striking distance of the team title on the boys’ side of the competiton.

Last Friday, in Burwell, the Rebels amassed ninety- three points at the Longhorns’ annual meet, putting the team in second place. Anselmo-Merna headlined the meet, with the Coyotes scoring 119 for the team title. Arcadia/Loup City finished six points ahead of South Loup, with the Bobcats scoring sixty-seven.

Leading the Rebels was Tyce Calleroz. The senior battled Anselmo-Merna’s Colin Wright, with Calleroz beating Wright in the 100, but finishing behind the Coyote in the 200. Calleroz won the shorter race in 11.21 and finished the longer sprint in 22.97.
