Loup City After School Program executive director Kris Hervert posted on social media, “The Loup City After School Program will be meeting for the final time this school year on Friday, April 15th due to the lack of funding.”

Loup City Public Schools 2016 Wall of Fame inductees were announced. Hilda Thomsen who taught for forty-eight years in Hall and Sherman county schools, Julie Ignowski Spiers, a 1974 Loup City High School graduate, who joined the staff of the Kearney Hub newspaper after college graduation and in 2015 became the newspaper’s publisher, and Dale Baltz a 1948 Loup City High School graduate, who drove a bus for twenty years and served on the Loup City School Board.
