Former Loup City High School Superintendent of Schools Dr. Caroline Winchester was named the 2016-2017 Nebraska Superintendent of the Year by the Nebraska Schools Administrators Association. She was Superintendent of Loup City Schools from 2005 until 2010. She is currently superintendent of Chadron Public Schools.

Addison Henry earned two Central Nebraska Track Championship trophies in the shot put (41-03) and discus (14501). Montana Markus was fourth in the discus (114-01) and seventh in the shot put (36-06). Jessica Eurek placed third in the 800 run (2.25:55). The Rebel 1600 relay, Josie Ference, Kennedy Lewandowski, Kinley Krzycki and Jessica Eurek was seventh and the 3200 relay, Ference, Lewandowski, Krzycki, Eurek was seventh. Nolan Baker earned a second place in the triple jump (42.0).
