Six Loup City High School seniors, three Litchfield High School seniors, and one post-graduate student at the University of Nebraska Medical Center are awarded a total of $30,000 in scholarships this year through the Sherman County Community Foundation.

The generosity of a myriad of past and present donors from Sherman County make these scholarships possible. Several donors provide more than one scholarship, with the Knights of Columbus Council 5455 awarding four scholarships this year.

The 2026 Foundation scholarship awards are as follows: Brogan Setlik of Loup City: $2,000 Roman & Patricia Badura Scholarship, $1,500 Zella Long Beckman & Ruth McFadden Long Memorial Scholarship, and $500 Knights of trail has been open since then. The ribbon cutting, said Dush, was held off until a time deemed seasonally appropriate.
