The Loup City Fire Department announced Monday, April 27th, that, due to recent moisture conditions, including rainfall over the weekend, the department has lifted restrictions on the use of personal fire pits and burn barrels put in place earlier in the year.
Officials said residents may resume using fire pits and burn barrels, but emphasized the need for caution and “common sense” based on weather conditions.
Burning, the department noted in a statement, should not take place when winds are over fifteen miles per hour.
