Safe Driving Encouraged this summer

Summer travel kicks into high gear this weekend and Nebraska State Troopers encourage safe driving all season long.

Memorial Day weekend starts the summer travel season, and roadways will be busy across the state and entire country. The weekend is also part of the annual Make It Click campaign.

During the first week of the effort, troopers arrested twenty-five drivers for driving under the influence. Troopers also issued citations for open alcohol container (22), driving under suspension (25), no seat belt (29), improper child restraint (8), speeding (594), and failure to move over (3).
