The ribbon was cut on the Sherman County Historical Society’s new picnic shelter during an official event amid Polish Days festivities on Saturday, June 6th, at 1:30 p.m. The shelter was completed last year.

During the weekend event, Sherman County Historical Society President Donna Trompke noted that constructing shelter had been a longterm goal of the society.

“It’s been a dream for a while,” she said. “We used to have a tent we would set up. It took several people to set it up, and with the wind, it got to be a problem.”
