Elizabeth L. “Lou” Kmoch

Elizabeth “Lou” L. Kmoch, 63, of Callaway, died Sunday, August 17, 2025 at the Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City with Pastor Ryan Durham officiating.

Ryder Baker, Justin Licking, and Wyatt Sipes will be honorary pallbearers.

Cremation has been held and burial of the ashes will be at a later date. Visitation will be one hour before service.

Memorials are suggested to the Kmoch family for later designation.

Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City is in charge of arrangements. Condolences for the Kmoch family can be left at higginsfuneralhomelc. com.

Elizabeth Louise Heller was born January 9, 1962 at Great Bend, Kansas. She was adopted by Miller and Helen (Jones) Heller when she was four years old. Elizabeth grew up in the Nebraska Sandhills and attended school in Dunning, graduating in 1980. She grew up going to the Open Bible Church and attending 4-H Club in high school. She loved helping on the farm.

Elizabeth married Laddie D. Kmoch on February 28, 2003 at the Custer County Courthouse. Elizabeth and Laddie lived in the Broken Bow area. She became a Certified Nursing Assistant and medical aide and worked at several nursing homes.

She also worked as a construction flagger.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Nancy Hein of Loup City; two grandchildren; sisters, Vickie Webb of Dunning and Fredrecia Eyten of Callaway; brother, Justin Licking of North Platte; and many nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
